Our Report Card

Three years on, have we seen real change?

The Disability Royal Commission (DRC) made 222 recommendations to address violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability. Three years on, we looked at 10 key recommendations to ask a simple question: has real change occurred?

Developed by a national coalition of Disability Advocacy and Representative Organisations, this report card provides the public with an independent assessment of progress. The 10 recommendations were selected because they have all been accepted by government, and they reflect issues consistently raised by people with disability and the advocacy sector.

Read the report to see where progress has been made, where action is still needed, and what must change.

This report card is just the beginning. Our coalition is building a DRC Tracker to create an ongoing public record of government progress until every recommendation has been addressed.

Previous DRC analysis by QIDAN

In May 2026 the Queensland Independent Disability Advocacy Network (QIDAN) published a detailed analysis of all 222 recommendations. Their report highlighted the lack of progress to date and where further action is needed.

It was this analysis that led to The DRC Still Matters campaign, which has now grown into a national coalition of more than 20 disability organisations.
