Our campaign made national news

ABC Disability Affairs Reporter, Nas Campanella, has reported on The DRC Still Matters campaign, drawing national attention to the lack of action by the Australian Government to implement the Disability Royal Commission recommendations.

The report was right to point out that the DRC:
💰 cost $600 million
📅 took almost 5 years
🗣 heard from 10,000 people who gave overwhelming evidence of abuse and neglect.

And yet, we’ve seen very little action to make our country a safer and more inclusive place for people with disability.

We deserve more from our government.

In this quick 3 minute listen, Nas talks to Greens Senator Jordon Steele-John, Acting CEO of People with Disability Australia Megan Spindler-Smith, and Council Assisting to the Royal Commission Kate Eastman, with a statement from the Department of Health and Disability at the end.
